“I have a ground mounted sign that is 10’ long and 5’ high. I would like to wash it with an even spread of light and use an above ground light fixture. What is the most effective fixture and placement?”

When facing this application, the first question is always: “Are there any limitations on fixture location?” Assuming there are not, the best fixture would be our SL-51-70MH-5x3. The optimum setback is 3’ which allows the light to hit low on the surface and increases the coverage. For this application, space two units at 2.5’ from center of the sign for an even distribution with at least 20fc. You may want to use some shielding to control spill light and reduced glare.
